We are a diverse team composed of students who are also full of passion and dreams, including 14 students having different majors from 5 colleges, and 1 instructor, 1 advisor, 2 PIs. We believe that whatever worth doing is worth doing well, that’s why we are greatly enthusiastic about iGEM. Meet the calendar records of our laboratory life during these time. I am Yiyuan Zheng, a junior at School of Biology and Biological Engineering, SCUT. When I was a freshman, I learned about iGEM from BioS Club, which is a wonderful and successful competition for training students interested in synthetic biology. And then, I was very enthusiastic to join our team and started my iGEM tour. I am one of the student leaders from our team and mainly responsible for the overall progress of the project. I also participated in the experiment and the design of the wiki.

My name is Lon Rumdon. Since I entered the biological engineering major of South China University of Technology in 2017, I have been studying and researching on synthetic biology. Like many researchers, I am eagering to take my place in this field. Fortunately, in the past two years, I have worked and researched in many fields, including biology, sociology, art design and education. These experiences have revealed to me what the future of science will look like -- scientific research will be more closely integrated with social activities and artistic images. I hope my team and I can make a contribution in this process. Contribution: Overall program design of the project; Experimental scheme design and partial implementation; HP program design and implementation; Establish a company; Build teams and recruit players.

Hello all, I’m Heulwen Chung, an undergraduate student from SCUT who majors in Biotechnology. I firstly heard about iGEM when I was in high school and is finally able to participate in the Jamboree now through my endeavour. Not only this summer, our team have spent nearly two years on this project. Thanks to this project, I have learned to install and uninstall Ps, Dw, Ai, Ae, Pr and other software (。_。) Just kidding! But I am really grateful to iGEM for making me grow up a lot.
Role in team: In the early stage, I was responsible for designing and building the VerProS Pool, which is the most significant part of the project. Later, I took charge of the VI design of the whole project, including the wiki, poster, presentation and others.

I am from the BBE, SCUT. If somebody ask who is Bing, I guess that the most people will say he is good people. What? Yes, is me. When I often do something or help other, they always think why this guy is like a tool to do it well and dedicatedly? Because I very like this team SCUT_China which let me hardworking and to do all things better.
Hobbies: there are too many. But almost hobbies are about science (biology is best) and art (movie, photo and so on)
What I do in the SCUT_China: HP, experiment (design it and do it), notebook, write the part of wiki.

Hello dear iGEMers, it's Michelle here, an undergraduate from the School of Biology and Biological Engineering, SCUT. This is my second year in iGEM. Our team has come together because of our common love for synthetic biology and life science. I am extremely happy to take place in SCUT_China Team, where everyone works with enthusiasm and excitement. I have not only improved my experimental skills and problem solving ability, but also gained a loving family. Good luck to all teams that are in iGEM 2019 competition.

Hello, everyone. My name is Pan Hao. I am from the class of Biotechnology 2017, School of biology, South China University of Technology. Two years ago, I came here full of love for biology, and had the honor to meet the top competition in the field of biology and this excellent team composed of students who are also full of passion and dreams. I am quiet and introverted, but at the same time, I am dedicated, careful and rigorous, and have strong ability to work under pressure. A wide range of interests in daily life. In the process of participating in iGEM, I have learned a lot and grown a lot. I hope I can do my best to fight for the goal of the competition with the team and contribute to the scientific research cause.

My name is Xu Kuan, and I'm form School of Mathematics, South China University of Technology. I like playing card games and running. I am very pleasant to participate in iGEM with my teammates. Dr. Xiaofeng Yang, associate professor of School of Biology and Biological Engineering, South China University of Technology. He obtained his PhD degree in microbiology 2014. His research interests including the basic research and commercial technology in synthetic biology and metabolic engineering. He is focusing on design synthetic gene circuit for enhancing acid tolerant of E. coli, and modular pathway engineeing of yeast for terpenoid hyper production.

Professor Zhanglin Lin, Dean of School of Biology and Biological Engineering, South China University of Technology. He is currently Director of the International Joint Laboratory on Synthetic Biology and Drug Preparation of the Ministry of Education, selected as Changjiang Scholars Chair Professor of Ministry of Education. His research interests including the basic research and commercial technology in biopharmaceuticals (medium-to-large-sized peptide drugs), synthetic biology and protein engineering. He is also focusing on national scientific and technological innovation and entrepreneurship.

I am Yanping Lu, a doctor candidate that major in microbiology from SCUT. What I interested is the metabolic regulation of microorganisms such as Y. lipolytica. Li jiahui, a graduate student of microbiology, school of biological science and engineering, south China university of technology, was virtuous and helpful during her study. In terms of learning and scientific research, she scored an average of 92 points in professional courses and won the first and second prizes in academic studies. As the third author, she published an article and one of the inventors of a patent in MCF, the journal of district I.
