Wet Lab

Jian Su, one of the leaders of our team, participated in a series of experiments to prove RPA combined with Cas12a could be used to detect HPV and the experiments to make sure we can use menstrual blood as a sample for detection.

Wenxiao Li, one of the leaders of our team, was responsible for designing and implementing a detection method based on hybridization chain reaction and Parts improvement.

Gang Li put forward the idea of using menstrual blood and was responsible for Parts characterization, part of experiments on detection methods based on CRISPR/Cas12a biosensor system.

Chengyang Hu participated in making basic Parts and constructed expression plasmids of AsCas12a and LbCas12a and extraction and purification of Cas12a protein.

Qi Ma was responsible for extraction and purification of Cas12a protein.

Yitian Jin participated in HPV detection based on the hybridization chain reaction and part improvement .

Ruofan Jin participated in hybridization chain experiment and assisted in some experiments of Cas12a purification.

Huiying Huang assisted in the wet-lab experiments, including the hybridization chain experiment and the Parts improvement.

Prof. Ming Chen, the PI of our team, organized members to brainstorm and played a soul role in the final session. As one of our indefatigable spiritual sources, he provided general advice on the experiments when we face setbacks.

Prof. Fan Yang, the PI of our team, provided the experimental place for the web lab team and was responsible for the basic supplies of the laboratory.

Sheng Qi, an advisor of our team, tell us to try to use cas12a for HPV detection.

Yan Luo in After iGEM Committee keep in touch with us and answered our questions about Parts measurement, new Parts design and safety, his kindness did impress us.

Prof. Wentao Jin lent us primers used to amplify ABO gene, provided plasmids containing eGFP sequence. In addition, he lent Floor Model Centrifuges and several materials to us.

Prof. Xiaobo Zhang's Lab provided us with the cell line MDA-MB-435 and some consumables.

Shanghai Youlong Biotech Co,.Ltd helped us to produce test papers.

The Beijing Genomics Institute and TSINGKE Biologocal Technology Institute helped us synthesize primers, probes, RNAs and other sequences.

Hardware

Yiyu Lu, the leader of dry lab, was responsible for the hardware part, including the design, feasibility testing, optimization, determination and production.

Prof. You Wang gave suggestions on the design of the portable HPV detection device and helped us optimize our device.

Prof. Ying Mu specifically explained the fluorescence detection method in biological experiments and provided us with a laboratory for making fluorescence detection devices.

The Robotics Association of Zhejiang University provided us with a 3D printer for conveniently building our portable HPV detection device.

Hangzhou Xiaojiemei Sanitary Articles Co., Ltd took us on a tour of the entire process of sanitary napkin production and provided valuable advice on how to put the test device into the sanitary napkin. We also discussed about the feasibility of our plan in industrial production.

Modelling

Hongyi Li was responsible for modelling, including predictions and proofs of experimental results. Besides, Hongyi Li built a database for gynecological disease.

Prof. Ming Chen gave us valuable suggestions about modelling.

Wiki

Xiaoxuan Cai designed all the pages and graphics for the wiki.

Anxiao He was responsible for the website making.

All our team members wrote the contents of the wiki pages.

Human Practices

Huiying Huang was responsible for the overall design and development of human practices and integrated human practices, the preparation and development of meet up, the design and development of educational and public engagement activities, the design of business plans, etc.

iGEM Asian Ambassador Dorothy Zhang gave us advice on our business plan. After that, we are more determined to develop a product that can be used by everyone rather than only in the bio lab.

Hangzhou Xiaojiemei Sanitary Articles Co., Ltd provided us with a place to visit for the manufacture of pads, provided us with many effective feedbacks for our product design and cooperated with us to jointly develop a sanitary napkin with promotional materials of HPV.

Zhejiang women's insurance hospital provided us with a place to visit and consult, and the dean also provided us with a lot of effective information on HPV screening.

Hangzhou Low-carbon Science and Technology Museum provided us with a venue for our education work.

Safety

Dr. Zhaochen Wang helped us with medical ethics and health laws.

Prof. Ruipeng Lei provided constructive suggestions on the bioethical problems may occur of our project.

Members of ZJU-China 2018 Team trained us in lab safety.

Organization

We are grateful for the following sponsors which reduced our economic burden:

Ruofan Jin and Yitian Jin managed and directed all matters related to economic movements and also controlled the budgets and invoices received.

Xiaoxuan Cai hold the post of affair manager in our team.

Huiying Huang was in charge of managing our social media.

Presentation

All members will attend the annual Giant Jamboree and participate in the presentation.

Prof. Ming Chen and his Lab members gave us presentation coaching for the final display.

Xiaoxuan Cai was responsible for all art design.

Last but not least

We would like to thank all the people who came to our progress presentations and gave useful feedback and input.
