With Zhejiang University (ZJU-China)

Zhejiang University had provided us with great help in biological modeling. Firstly, they enhanced our way of thinking and introduced the use of probabilistic models to us. Secondly, they helped us to sort out the research ideas on modeling and make the logic axis clear in our project. By communicating with them, we had a more comprehensive understanding on biological modeling. They used chemical reactions as an analogy to modeling and taught us that biological modeling, while diverse, was at its core unchanging. The logic of each step of operation and its corresponding relationship are developed around the core, which is closely connected. With the guidance and suggestions from Zhejiang University, our team made great progress in modeling.

With Suzhou High School-SIP (SHSSIP-CHINA)

On April 23, 2019, our team received a half-day friendly visit from the SHSSIP iGEM team. With the permission of the school, we and the biology teachers led the SHSSIP team members to visit the Research lab of XJTLU, so that the new iGEM high school team had a deeper understanding of biological research and the use of biological experimental equipment. In addition, in the final discussion, our team members provided some guiding opinions on the project of SHSSIP. We two team members shared our intuitive feelings about the life of iGEM to each other, deepening the friendship between us. At last, the two teams reached a long-term cooperation consensus. Since they give up editing their wiki, our collaboration may not be seen in their pages.

With Nanjing Foreign Language School (Nanjing_NFLS) and the University of Chinese Academy Sciences (UCAS)

On August 20-23, 2019, we attended the Conference of China iGEMer Community. At the meeting, we set up a discussion group with Nanjing Foreign Language School and the University of Chinese Academy Sciences. We had collaborated on ethics. Each team would seek out local hospital ethics committees or professors who study in the field to interview them on their views and applications of synthetic biology in therapeutics. Finally, each team shared the results. From this way, the sample was as rich as possible. The interview was divided into two parts, one on each team’s own project and the other on synthetic biology/gene therapy.
