Medal criteria summary

This web page is made to ease judges the review of medal criteria. Our main objective is to arrive at China with a gold medal inside our suitcases. Will we achieve it? Yes, we made it!

Yes! We won the gold medal!

Attributions

To visibilize attributions with the importance it deserves we made an special web page, visit it in the Attributions page.

Characterization

We have provided experimental characterization data for the theophylline responsive riboswitch 1G1 with engineered RBS BBa_K598010 from Peking 2011.

Validated part

We have several parts on EAAT2 and especially documented the part BBa_K3030002 in corresponding part registry, which is an essential part of our exoCAR in the brain.

Collaborations

iGEM would not be what it is whithout interaction between teams. We have done three collaborations during all this year. To check out what we have done please go to our collaborations page.

Human Practices

In the Human Practice work, we not only communicated with professors, doctors for suggestions on our project but also interviewed the patients’ relatives with neurodegenerative disease about their experiences and expectations. In addition, we also made questionnaire to understand the public’s view of our project.

To see more please, go to: Human Practices XJTLU-CHINA.

Integrated Human Practices

At the beginning of the project, we communicated with professors. They gave us important suggestions. As our project processed, we contacted the doctors in hospital for pathological and clinical conditions of neurodegenerative disease, which helped us have a better understanding of the disease, and proved the rationality of our project. During the final time of our project, we interviewed patients’ relatives with neurodegenerative diseases.

Furthermore, the questionnaire was also published to gather opinions and suggestions from the general public.

Finally, we simulated a drug launch system, which made full preparation for the development of our project in the future. We also managed a club in the university for the better promotion of our team. The club contributes greatly to the promotion of synthetic biology and the iGEM competition in and out of XJTLU.

The way we used our Human Practices work to improve and adapt the design of XJTLU-CHINA can be read in the next link: Integrated Practices in XJTLU-CHINA.

Model

1. Our modeling anticipates the results of our core experiments and confirms the feasibility and rationality of our project design. The project design was adopted and implemented after our modeling results is consistent with our expectations. Our modeling results also simplify the task of exploring the experimental conditions and ensure the progress of our project.

2. Our modeling predicts the condition of regulated cellular production of our therapeutic exosomes theoretically, provides possible theoretical guidance and prediction for future projects.

3. Our modeling help us to improve the original reporting part, foresee the improved results and facilitate us to provide a more sensitive and stable reporter for iGEM community.

Check out with the Model page.

Improve previous part

We have created a new part BBa_K3030017 that has a functional improvement of BBa_K598009.

Demonstrate

In order to demonstrate potential functioning, we have included each proof-of-concept of XJTLU-CHINA individual pieces and the most relevant wet lab experiments. You can check it going to the Demonstrate page.
