Student Members

Brian Zhou

As one of the team leaders, Brian is mostly responsible for the planning and the coordination of the team efforts. He manages a lot of the correspondence and outsourcing and also is a main member of the wet team. But besides this role, he is fairly multifaceted: he loves soccer, cycling, running, drama, films, audiobooks, and tea (with milk and sugar, please). He currently attends 11th grade at SFLS, a place that allows him to be pretty good at English and German. He hopes that via iGEM, we can get our hands on hardcore scientific research and help improve the status quo in one way or another.

Crystal Liu

Crystal is a junior at Shanghai Foreign Language School affiliated to SISU. She loves volleyball, cooking/baking, phone photography. In addition, she loves pointless debates, as well as learning and talking about different foreign languages. In the team, she is mainly responsible for the team Wiki, social media, and literary and scientific writing. She believes that this project will contribute to the society and help the environment, and would love to learn a lot of skills, as well as molecular biology, from this iGEM project.

Ethan Huang

Ethan is a junior at Shanghai Foreign Language School. He loves reading books about science, traveling, and listening to music, especially Russian songs. His favorite subject is biology, and he focuses on the experiments in the iGEM team. He also wrote some of the articles in the public account. During the iGEM competition, he would like to make progress to create something that can benefit our life.

Nicole Guo

Nicole Guo is G11 student from SFLS. At present, she is responsible for publicity, and also works for both the dry and wet team. She believes that she can better find her own position in the later work. She hopes that in the near future, the iGEM project will not only be presented to the public through scientific research but also spread the green concept of harmonious coexistence between man and nature through practice, which will better promote the coordinated development of nature and society.

Aileen Zhou

Aileen Zhou is a 12th grade student from SFLS, mainly participating the wet team. Years ago, learning how fellow students use synthetic bio to change the world inspired her a lot. For her, igem is not only a mere competition, but a chance to reconfirm her love for Biology, a medium to take initiatives.

Amber Lu

Amber is from Beijing, and she is a junior who is currently studying in Minnesota. Besides learning sciences, she loves playing tennis and baking. She also spends years playing flute in a symphony orchestra. In the team, she is mainly responsible for designing and conducting experiments. At the same time, she also helps with organizing social media. She’s hoping to contribute to the environmental protection through this iGEM project.

Clesia Pan

Clesia is a junior at Shanghai Foreign Language School affiliated to SISU. She loves reading novels(and at present her favorite novel is Me Before You). She would like to learn more about synthetic biology and gene engineering via IGEM. Also she hopes to contribute to the combination of theoretical knowledge and practical application in real life. In the team, she is mainly responsible for part of the human practices as well as accounting.

Baron Wang

Baron is a twelfth-grader at Xinhua high school, Tianjin, China. He is in the dry team. In general, his job is to search for scientific literature, design the experiments, and write about the biology research his team is conducting. He is enthusiastic about biology and biotechnology and likes to approach scientific questions from a perspective of biology. By participating in the iGEM, he hopes to broaden his horizons and contribute to his group.
