_JUDGING_

Bronze Registration and Jamboree Attendance. We have registered for iGEM successfully. Since the team was successfully formed in January, we studied the advanced biological technology and completed the experiments together, so we have a meaningful, interesting and great iGEM season. More importantly, we are now fully prepared to attend the Giant Jamboree, looking forward to meet other intelligent iGEMers. Competition Deliverables. Wiki: we made a complete, exquisite, shocking but also understandable wiki. Poster: we will show our poster on the Giant Jamboree. Presentation: we will give our presentation on the Giant Jamboree. Judging Form: here is out Judging Form:

Attributions. Our team had done a good job together. Every member made great contribution. The major work were done by ourselves. In addition, other people and companies also helped us a lot. Detailed information in Attributions. Project Inspiration and Description. Our inspiration came from some members’ daily life. In recent years, the incidence of gout has been increasing gradually, many gout patients have been suffering from chronic kidney disease and other complications. Therefore, our team hopes to create bacteria that can intelligently detect the concentration of uric acid and cells that can intelligently remove it, keeping uric acid concentrations at normal levels. Detailed information in Description. Characterization. We did much work in this part. The following parts are used here: BBa_B0030 RBS B0030 BBa_I746916 sfGFP BBa_K2197303 hucO
Silver Validated Part We have designed several parts which are related to our project, such as Rin-p80α, the CDS of an amplifier. Detailed information in Parts. The following parts are used here: BBa_K3007001 PhucR BBa_K3007005 RinA_p80α BBa_K3007010 PrinA_p80α-B0030-sfGFP Collaboration We have collaborated with several teams, including BEAS_China 2019 and several other teams. Detailed information in collaboration. Human Practices After we decided to work on the diagnosis and treatment of hyperuricemia and gout, we looked up news and materials, read literature and books online, asked our parents and relatives, interviewed doctors and patients, and learned from other schools or researchers. Detailed information in human practices.
Gold Integrated Human Practices In order to improve our project, we interviewed several specialists. For instance, our team interviewed a biologist and asked for his advice on our amplifier design, and he gave us feasible approach to revise our project. Detailed information in practice. Improve a previous part We have improved an existing part, BBa_K2197300, which was made by Hong_Kong_UCCKE 2017,to sense uric acid, and produced several experimental data. Detailed information in Parts. Our new part is BBa_K3007029. Model We have established mathematical models to instruct bacteria and cell experiment, which help us promote the project. Detailed information in model. Demonstration We have already finished many experiments about our project. Our biosensor in E. coli could successfully detect uric acid as low as 5 μM. Besides, our intellectual cells could degrade uric acid under control. Detailed information in Demonstration. Special Prizes Integrated Human Practices We did a lot of human practices which connected with our project closely. At the beginning, through reading literatures, visiting experts and discussing with patients, we found the existing means of treating and monitoring high-level uric acid were far from perfect. That prompted us to come up with the idea to solve these problems. After sharing the preliminary data with the experts who major on curing gout, we received their feedback that we needed to improve the sensitivity of the UA detector and reduce the waiting time for the reaction. These suggestions reminded us to optimize the project design. In this summer, we got good results. Considering that the stakeholders of the project mainly contained doctors, patients and the public, whose needs and requirements are very important for us, we designed a questionnaire under the guidance of an expert at questionnaire. 460 feedbacks provided us with valuable comments and suggestions, that could guide our future plans. Human practices has promoted our projects from beginning to end, we hope to apply the Special Prize for Integrated Human Practices. Detailed information in human practices. Part Awards Best New Basic Part BBa_K3007001 PhucR Best New Composite Part BBa_K3007029 PhucR-dsRed-Pcp6-HucR & YgfU

All in all, this is the first time of our high school to attend iGEM and we got a gold medal as well as a nominate for best new composite part.
During the jamboree, the judges spoke highly of our great work. However, they also pointed out the questions in our project. We realized to do a perfect job, the subsequent teams should know more about iGEM and assimilate the experience of the anterior teams. As a result, welcome to see our judging feedback.
