Survey

Our first contribution to the iGEM community is our survey. We worked with Dr. Daniel Shank, a professor of psychology at the Missouri University of Science and Technology to produce this survey. The survey has been specifically designed to avoid bias and encourage those filling it out to do so without priming. The form is fast and easy to fill out and is conveniently made with Google Forms. We developed the survey over the course of several weeks with input from various sources across campus. For our contribution we would like to make the survey available to other teams to utilize in future projects. They may edit the form and its contents as they wish or utilize it as is. We will also make our data collected available for independent analysis.

This link will take you to a blank copy of the survey in Google Forms that can then be copied and utilized at the disrcetion of the team.

This file contains the data obtained by our team over the course of the survey period.

Part: BBa K3043002

This part is designed for E. Coli to uptake a cry toxin sequence that is specific to target the gut receptors of the Emerald Ash Borer, an invasive beetle species to North America. The adult beetles grow by consuming the leaves of the Ash tree. The part contains a plant promoter that causes expression of the cry toxin in the tree leaves, theoretically causing the adult beetles that feed on the leaves to expire. The sequence was designed as follows: Bacteria Promoter + Plant Promoter + RBS + Cry Toxin + TAATTAA Stop Codon + Bacteria Terminator The part BBa_K1618037 was used as a terminator.
