Collaborations
Our team reached out to the Florida State University (FSU) 2019 iGEM team for help with obtaining dead psyllids to extract DNA from. This was critical for us to confirm that the psyllid gene sequences we found online were correct and our RNAi constructs were good. FSU is also tackling HLB disease, but from a different angle. They are making peptides that are toxic to the CLas bacteria. In turn we helped them connect with scientists at UC Riverside who had the capability of testing their peptides in plants.
Our team also reached out to the NYU New York 2019 iGEM team for help with our measurements. We do not have a working fluorimeter, and they let us use theirs.
