Collaborations

Beijing Meetup

We've participated in the Beijing Meetup hosted on July 7th. Share our project and received helpful comments from both iGEM ambassador in Asia and Jeff Hu, the director of the highschool dept. of iGEM.

Collaboration with SHSBNU_China

SHSBNU_China is our neighbor at the Bluepha lab in Beijing. The modeling department of both teams sends and receives helps from the other team. Here's a picture of Xiaoyang Hua (our modeling director) explaining analytical hierarchy process to Haochong Li, a member of SHSBNU_China. Also, as neighbors, we share a lot of materials which saves us numerous time and money. SHSBNU_China also participated in our project with BSC_United: "more than a bulletin board".

Collaboration with RDFZ-China

We shared Gibson Mix and plasmid pSB4C5, saved a significant amount of money. During RDFZ-China's experiment, we provided our Gibson Reagent as RDFZ-China's positive control, boosting their experiment progress. Moreover, we stayed in touch with RDFZ-China during the entire project, giving each other suggestions and thoughts. As two high school teams, we value education much and discussed the role education plays in the future of synthetic biology. We had a very deep conversation on the subject of the iGEM community's impact on not only academics but also the whole society.

Collaboration with GreatBay_sz

This year, GreatBay_sz's project is about spider string, which is undyed. Coincidentally, our project is about carmine, a type of dye that can be used as a dye on spider strings. We've sent GreatBay_sz our carmine sample for them to test the color effect of our sample carmine and the colorability of GreatBay_sz's spider string.

Collaboration with BSC_United

Our most important public engagement project "more than just a Bulletin Board." was the idea that comes from a discussion of Keyi "Eva" Huang (from BSC_United) and Chongye "Tom" Han (From BNDS_China). We collaborated with BSC_United to start this project from scratch. Both teams contributed significant amounts of effort during this project. learn more about this here.
