General Laboratory Safety
The BM-AMU iGEM team, incorporated into the stem cell laboratory of the Army Medical University of China,fully complies with the safety and security rules of the iGEM competition.And our LABS are biosafety level 1 or 2,which are enough for all the experiments involved in our project.Before we started working in the lab, all team members went through lab safety training,such as Lab access rules、self-protection of laboratory .All our laboratory work complies with the good laboratory principles(GLP)promulgated by China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment(CNAS))and our university's regulations on laboratory management, giving priority to the personal safety of researchers and biosafety.
Prior to the formal launch of our experiments, we underwent rigorous training, which enabled us to skillfully carry out work in the biosafety secondary laboratory and molecular biology laboratory. The lab professor taught us how to use alcohol lamps and sharp.

Safety of Our Project
●The homo sapiens H9(human embryonic stem cell line) we operated were purchased from biological companies, in which embryonic stem cells were registered in NIH.
●The E.coli used in molecular biology experiments is an engineered and commercial E.coli DH5a, which is suitable for the biosafety level 1 or 2 labs. In order to prevent the spread of E.coli and reduce the harm to experimenters, we reasonably sterilize and carry out related experiments in ultra-clean platform.
●The cells and bacteria in the waste have been inactivated before being discharged, and the toxic organic compounds have been centrally treated and pretreated if necessary.
●For our project, in order to reduce the risk, we did not carry out animal experiments.
●Our lentiviral system,which is purchased in the biological company ,includes two packaging plasmids which are viral shells and a core plasmid of the target gene,they are not complete viruses by themselves.We have also knocked out infectious and harmful gene sequence of lentiviral system. After modification, human contact will not cause infection and cannot be proliferated after assembly.
