Meet the team
Beteel Abu-Ageel is a Biology major and a member of the wetlab team. She really loves doing research and has never met a team as passionate, driven or inspiring as this year's iGEM team. Outside of the lab, she is crazy about art, specifically poetry, fashion, music and film. She is also a animal lover!

Sanjana is a sophomore majoring in Biology and minoring in Chemistry. Her love for synthetic biology started when her super enthusiastic intro biology professor bombarded her with synbio for months. In her free time she likes to shop and watch Netflix.
Xiangyi Fang is a junior majoring CAMS-BioMath. Her favorite lab work is pipetting, and her lifetime goal is to get every single drop out of pipette tips. In her spare time she is usually wandering around Williamsburg finding antique stores. She enjoys chopping vegetables and changing wallpapers.
Anna Isler is a sophomore majoring in Kinesiology with a Biology minor. She discovered synthetic biology in her intro bio class and joined the iGEM team to pursue her interests in biology, education, and outreach. Outside of iGEM, she plays the violin in two music groups and enjoys exploring Colonial Williamsburg with her friends.
Elias Nafziger is a sophomore majoring in Biology with a possible Data Science minor. After discovering synthetic biology in high school, he joined the iGEM team and has since fallen in love with the field. On the rare occasion he is not in the lab, he enjoys playing ultimate Frisbee, reading XKCD, and having game nights with friends.
Adam is a Junior majoring in CAMS-Biomath. This is his second year on the iGEM team. If he ever left the lab, he’d enjoy going on hikes and traveling around the world.
Hanqiu is a senior double majoring in Mathematics and Computer Science. As a big fan of machine learning and mathematical modeling, he enjoys writing code to solve real-life problems. In his free time, he likes to play soccer, read comics and travel. When studying and working, he is a bit perfectionistic and prefers to stay in a very quiet environment.
Julia Urban is a junior majoring in CAMS-Mathematical Biology. In her free time, she enjoys acrylic painting and competitive powerlifting.
Vivian is a senior double majoring in Computer Science and applied mathematics. In her free time...wait, she has no free time.
