question_icon

Who will use Pathlab?

answer_icon

iGEMers or Synthetic biologist.

For iGEMers they can get some inspirations from our software in the initial stage of their projects design. Because pathways they use are usually short which only contains 3 or 4 reactions, our software can have a better performance. For synthetic biologists, they can use our software to predict several reactions in their target pathway.

question_icon

Will Pathlab harm human body or the environment?

answer_icon

Pathlab runs on a computer only. So, it does no harm to human body and the environment.

question_icon

How does Pathlab deal with users’ personal information?

answer_icon

Pathlab has neat data format, which means users have no need to upload or download any files. Meanwhile, users’ search records will not be collected, so there is no risk of information exposure. Though users can register for an account, no personal information will be needed during the whole registering process. Users' accounts are only for sending us advice or public their comments on parts and enzymes, we do not save or record users' searching results. If they want, they can download reports generated by Pathlab to record searching results in their own disks.

question_icon

Do users have any way to access your data, or change data without any limitations?

answer_icon

The data used by Pathlab are well formatted, most of them are converted into a byte stream and stored in a binary file through the pickle module in Python 3, and can be converted back into python dictionary quickly. And we also use SQL databases to store our parts data. Our data are all stored in our own server and users cannot change our data in web client. If users want to get our data, they can contact with us directly or accessed them on our GitHub.
