Collaborations
Our main collaborators this year was our neighboring iGEM team from the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU-BioX-Shanghai). They mentored us throughout the competition especially providing us with a lab space to carry out our part measurements. Their mentorship was invaluable to us and enabled us to complete our project. More specifically, the SJTU-BioX-Shanghai provided us with protocols and advice on doing SDS-page and Western Blotting for protein identification and analysis. Additionally, they provided us with the plate reader to measure the fluorescence reading when testing the Iron QS system as well as the modified H2O2 promoter. During the experiment interval, we also had a chance to discuss the projects and exchange some useful opinions. In return for their mentorship we provided them with an opportunity to practice their presentation and offered advice on their project design and communication to the best of our ability.
