iGem SDSZ_China 2019

We are SDSZ_China iGEM team. Our team is consisted of 8 passionate high school students from The Experimental High School Attached to Beijing Normal University, 6 of whom will be attending the Giant Jamboree in Boston. All of us have specific interests in synthetic biology and are ardent to use our knowledge, ideas and hard work to bring forth some changes to this world. This is our fourth year participating in the iGEM competition, and we look forward to continuing for years to come!

Yuhe Shen

As the team leader, Yuhe is in charge of every aspects of the team. She came up with the creative idea of improving bluephage and diligently designed the project. Because our high school’s bio lab is not open to iGEM teams anymore beginning this year, she strived to find a lab in China Agricultural University to conduct our experiment. She also spent months in experiments while contemplating about ways to continue improving our project.

Yufei Liu

Yufei Liu

Having worked on molecular biology researches, Yufei contributes a lot to our experiment. She was in charge of designing the specific parts of our experiment, like primer and plasmid design, and also spent months in the lab. She is also in charge of drawing the illustration of our reaction. Moreover, when returning to her hometown, Xiaobeihe, she investigated the local sewage treatment plant, bringing back information that helps in improving the project.

Huarui Liang

Huarui is adept in biology, computer science and math. Besides participating dedicatedly in experiments, he was also in charge of coding our team wiki and building valid mathematic model for our part. He also organized the visit to the domestic wastewater treatment plant and got valid suggestions on improving the project, which constitutes an important part of our human practice.

Yisheng Liu

Yisheng is gifted in mathematics, physics and biology. He adapts his knowledges into the lab well, and treated all the tasks assigned to him, both inside and outside of the lab, with seriousness. He also participated actively in human practices.

Mukun Liu

Mukun is fluent in English, which contributed a lot to our team’s presentations and writings. She is also ardent in learning about biology techniques. She contributed a lot to our experiments, participated actively in human practice, and would always finish her tasks with efficiency and high quality.

Siqi Zhou

Siqi is adept at reading literatures. Thanks to her help, we are able to review and discuss more information from previous researches, which helps a lot when developing the PPO track.

Yuqiao Hu

As the first member to join our iGEM team, Yuqiao worked hard to finding a lab. Proficient in computer science and also gifted in art, she plays an important role in coding team wiki, designing our team logo and poster, and building model for our hardware.

Tianyang Han

Tianyang, as a fluent English speaker, contributed a lot to our Beijing iGEM meetup. With her love towards biology, she also sacrificed many of her time to the team’s program design and experiments.
