Meetup
All iGEMers are supposed to achieve more in collaboration with each other, so here comes
our Jilin
meetup. Jilin_China and JiangnanU_China made a meetup and had invited members from NJTech_China,
NEU_CHINA and NEFU to participate in.

Shanghai regional
conference
13/04/2019
Our team have 9 people to Shanghai to participate in the conference, which invited Dorothy, ambassador
of Asia region, from NYU Shanghai. The meeting lasted for one day, and 13 teams participated. Each team
introduced the 2018 iGEM competition content and briefly explained the 2019 project ideas and existing
achievements. At the meeting, we exchanged views on academic issues. After the meeting, WeChat group
provided channels for further understanding of iGEM teams.
Academic exchange
29/05/2019
Beijing institute of technology professor ChunLli came to our school for academic exchange. He expounds
his view of the various aspects of from the angle of synthetic biology. At the same time, after each
team to display, he review one by one and make the project optimization of overall. Mainly include the
following: the individual level emphasizes the initiative, the teamwork level emphasizes on team
management rules. And project need to reflect on the whole engineering thoughts and so on.
Jilin meetup
19/07/2019--20/07/2019
All iGEMers are supposed to achieve more in collaboration with each other, so here comes our Jilin
meetup. Jilin_China and JiangnanU_China made a meetup and had invited members from NJTech_China,
NEU_CHINA and NEFU to participate in.
Opening ceremony&Presentation
At the opening ceremony, each team will introduce their team and project in turn, including the
background, principle, system, parts and HP of each team's project. Each team will have 30min
Panel session
The next day we brainstormed. We got together and put forward our ideas on synthetic biology and the
project, and we had a heated discussion. The team, Jilin_China, suggested that we consider the
heat-sensitive suicide mechanism in our project, which is more suitable for use in fermentation tanks.
Previously, we were thinking about an optically controlled suicide switch.
The end
This short but rich meetup gave us new ideas and made new friends on iGEM's way. We later visited the
campus of jilin university.
This is our schedule
iGEM Jilin Meetup timetable
At the opening ceremony, each team will introduce their team and project in turn, including the
background, principle, system, parts and HP of each team's project. Each team will have 30min,
(including 15min presentation+15min question time for other teams)
Brainstorming, including but not limited to:
A. Suggestions on other teams' project contents,
B. exchange of project design, difficulties in experiments and solutions, seeking cooperation,
C. discussion on synthetic biology: a, exchange of interest directions, b, problems to be solved c,
discussion of related policies,
etc.
Closing, Jilin_China led interested teams to visit the laboratory and the campus of Jilin University
The email
To verify authenticity, this is an email we send to other teams after meetup, which can also be seen on other teams' wikis.
CCIC(Conference of China iGEMer Community)
20/08/2019
On August 20, 2019, the 6th international genetic engineering machine competition (iGEM) CCiC
(Conference of China iGEMer Community) was held in the institute of synthetic biology, shenzhen
institute of advanced technology, Chinese academy of sciences. The conference was sponsored by the
institute of synthetic biology, shenzhen institute of advanced technology, shenzhen institute of
synthetic biology and the executive committee of CCiC.
Eight members of our team attended the meeting, which lasted for 4 days. We got to know many excellent
iGEMers, benefited from their presentation, poster and some project ideas, and we also provided some
inspiration for other iGEMers during the poster presentation. At the meeting, the judges proposed the
guidance that was relevant to our project and enjoyed the process of knowledge collision.
The end of the ccic meeting also marks that the competition has entered a tense period, and our team
still has a lot to improve. All in all, we will work harder and meet Jamboree in October.
