Lab sub-team

In order to carry out the experiments, we recruited trainees who worked on the scientific part of the project. Florian Justine, Thomas Gardrat, Peter Aubois, Axel Boissière, Alexandra Lehmann, François Hébrard and Jonathan Sablier contributed to obtain important results.

IT sub-team

The whole website creation and coding part was done by Clément Saury, Hugo Bidois, Marvin Godard and Martin Petinotti. They helped us to create a communication site for our patrons and our contacts. In addition, they took some time to teach us how to modify the content of our sites at any time, allowing us to add new skills to our bow.

Commercial sub-team

The commercial team of 3 professional students, Jikate Aouba, Hamimi Aberbour, and Nadia Ighezou allowed us to collect a certain number of donations, reducing the cost of R&D in our project budget. They allowed us to receive donations up to €7,300 in consumables, solutions and kits.

Communication sub-team

Communication about the project via social networks was supported by Adrien Delage and Anaïs Brafine. They created our Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Youtube accounts. It is also them who made the filming and editing of our Youtube videos, such as conferences or video presentations of the project.

Financial sub-team

Part of the fundraising was done by 10 third year in licence degree: Alexandra Lehmann, Erin Girouin, Clara Chaigne, Benoit Pautrot, Emeline Moreau, Renaud Jusiak, Félix Desmoulin, Goulven Pasquier, Sophie Raulier and Christopher Loisel.
They carried out fundraising in order to complete the part of the budget provided by self-financing. It was through entertainment activities that they talked about the project and raised funds. Indeed, they organized an Escape Game and a raffle within the university. All in all, they allowed us to collect €1,500.

Research sub-team

The scientific research team did a lot of work to mature the project in its early stages. It is composed of 4 students: François Hébrard, Yohan Lefol, Caroline Mondamert and Thomas Greenbank.
They found a large number of publications related to our project. This allowed us to find a key article about one of the target molecules as well as its biosynthetic pathway. They also did a part of the research work on protocols and methods for extracting and purifying molecules after the production. Finally, for the applications, they carried out research on the quantities, the stability and the diffusion methods of the molecules so that they will be attractive outside.

Meet Up organisation sub-team

The iGEM meet-up Poitiers was organized by Adrien Delage, Anaïs Brafine, Jonathan Sablier and Aïcha Bouziani. They created the meet-up team registration form. They also organized the day's activities, the meal, the bus trip and the communication for the event.

Science popularization sub-team

The science popularization team organized 2 conferences to explain the field of synthetic biology, its applications and limitations. It is composed of Eloise Fort, Natasha Germain, Leyla Grell and Charlotte Fievet. They also organized educational workshops that were presented in poitevins’ high schools to educate the youngest to environmental issues and synthetic biology.

Core team

Principal investigator
Brigitte Vannier, Cell engineering Master degree referent:
First of all, we would like to thank Brigitte Vannier, our Master degree referent, without whom we would not be here today. It is thanks to her that we embarked on this adventure.
It is also thanks to her that we believed in ourselves. She has been present in both good and bad times. A valuable help in all areas. Always good advice and play down any situation.

“All alone we go faster, together, we go further.”

Advisor
Naina Goel:
Support in the different official iGEM aspects.

The iGEM Poitiers team is composed of a core of 6 students in second year of Master degree in Cell Engineering at the University of Poitiers in France. We are then surrounded by a number of students with various skills to create an heterogeneous team that responds to all aspects of the project who helped us from October to February. So our team is composed of students in biology, bioinformatics, business, ecology and engineering.
The various skills of these students enable us to cover several aspects of the project such as the creation of communication supports, the creation of the website and the wiki, the contact of suppliers for laboratory equipment, the solicitation of sponsors to finance the project, and finally the statistical modeling of the effect of our molecule on the decline of the Asian hornet population in France.

I'm Anne-Claire Boisson, 25 years old and I'm a bit like the mom of the group since I'm the oldest ... but I'm not the boss ! I am the co-financial manager of iGEM Poitiers with Anaïs. I'm really happy to share this new challenge with these great people. Let’s create something great together!

Main skills: finance, fundraising, submit sponsorship files, cloning, support.

My name is Anaïs Canteau, I'm 24. The boss ? It's me ! I am small, but tough. I like to lead and encourage my troops, and although I can be a little strict, I'm not very mean.

Main skills: Head of the project, bacterial assembly and engineering, cloning, fundraising, French Meet-up organization, Wiki planning, intern supervision.

I am Marin Duthoit, currently in second year of a genetic and management Master Degree. I’m a summer camp leader, I love to meet new people and to read when I manage to find enough time. Crazy enough to canalise 6 to 15 years children, I can also be very serious, enough for an adventure like iGEM.

Main skills: communication, extraction, HPLC-MS analysis, purification, French Meet-up organization.

I am Alicia Faugeroux but my friends call me Ali. I am 24 years old and I am in charge of the communication part of iGEM Poitiers with Marin. It's a good challenge for me to communicate with people because I'm pretty shy. I am the little princess of the group!

Main skills: communication, confidential agreement writing.

Hi, I’m Tony Horbach, alias TPH, I’m 24. I’m kind of the Bordeaux expressions transmitter and the Dutch culture sharer. I’m a careful and serious guy at work, but don’t take me to a party or you’d be surprised! I’m responsible for the research and protocol planification team with Marine.

Main skills: extraction optimization, GC analysis, purification, field testing, French Meet-up organization, Wiki planning and design.

My name is Marine Lavaud, I am 24 years old and I am responsible for the scientific research of iGEM Poitiers with Tony. I like taking on crazy projects, interacting with other people who are passionate about a subject. And I think I found the right team to achieve something good.

Main skills: bacterial assembly and engineering, cloning, fundraising, French Meet-up organization, poster design and creation, intern supervision.
